A Broken Arrow man faces a federal lawsuit, accusing him of promoting illegal tax shelters.

The lawsuit alleges Richard Blackstock and others advised people to set up a corporation that claims church status, as a way to avoid paying taxes. The Justice Department says Blackstock works for a California man who promotes the tax scam.

Prosecutors say they would charge customers anywhere from $200 to $2,300 to take part in the schemes.
