Traffic accident near Chickasha closes highway for a time

(Lawton-AP) -- Northbound I-44 HE Bailey Turnpike at mile marker 86 and State Highway 92 near Chickasha have been reopened, after closing because of a wreck.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that the highways were closed for a little over three hours.

A semi caught fire when it hit a bridge Saturday morning. Just after 10 AM, the trailer was hanging off the I-44 bridge over State Highway 92.

Firefighters and an ambulance service responded to the scene.

OHP reports the semi driver was treated for injuries and released.
