(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Governor Brad Henry says he's not worried about criticism from some of his top contributors and by members of his church.
The president of the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association calls Henry's lawsuit reform bill ``the worst piece of legislation ever introduced'' in Oklahoma. Attorneys gave more than a half (m) million dollars to Henry's campaign.
And members of the Baptist church aren't happy with Henry's support of a bill allowing electronic gaming at horse racing tracks. The editor of a Baptist publication calls it ``nauseating'' that the expansion of gambling is being pushed.
Henry, who is Baptist, says he believes he's acting in accordance with his faith.
He says criticism is the nature of the job and that governors sometimes have to step on a few toes to change things for the better.
