Retired Army General Tommy Franks is getting a special honor. He's the 2004 recipient of the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs' Citizenship Award.

Franks is the 4-star general who commanded the American-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan before retiring last August. He's a native of Wynnewood, Oklahoma.

Franks will receive the award March 24th at a fund-raiser dinner at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.

Past recipients of the award include magazine publisher Steve Forbes and US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
