Tulsa's ‘Up With Trees’ program got a big boost Friday. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation gave the program a $25,000 grant to replace dozens of trees poisoned by vandals last year.
The grant will pay for 215 new trees. The dead trees they’ll replace had been planted along several Tulsa highways.
The removal of the dead trees and the planting of the new ones will be done by volunteers.
