(Sand Springs-AP) -- A Sand Springs company faces $81,500 in fines for alleged safety violations.
Sheffield Steel is accused by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of putting its 410 workers at risk by failing to correct previous safety violations.
OSHA says those violations include failing to provide covers or guardrails to prevent employees from falling into open pits.
OSHA also says there are six new complaints, including failure to provide proper protective gear and failing to repair defective cutting torch hose connections.
Sheffield Steel has 15 working days to respond to the allegations.
