(Wilburton-AP) -- The president of Eastern Oklahoma State College at Wilburton is resigning.

Bill Campion resigned Tuesday before state regents could vote on a proposal to fire him.

Campion has been criticized for a contract he signed with a Florida company to provide EOSC credits to Florida teachers who never set foot on the Oklahoma campus.
