Oklahoma will have more than $40-million extra to spend next year than first thought.
That good news is adding up to good news for Tulsa Public Schools. Because of the extra money, school board members will vote Tuesday to fill 50 teaching positions for this school year. If approved, the district will start hiring right away for the positions needed most.
And the News on 6 has also learned the district is looking at hiring another 79-teachers next school year, if the economy and revenue outlook stay positive. That would help bring Tulsa back within the state mandate for class sizes.
