Two children die in Tulsa apartment fire

Wednesday, a fire at a midtown apartment complex killed 2 children. Five people were inside their Canyon Creek apartment at 51st and Lewis when the fire broke out around 1:30 in the afternoon.

As soon as firefighters arrived they knew they had a rescue operation on their hands. They formed two teams, one to pull out victims and the other to knock down the flames.

Witness, Mark Jacobs: â€œJust a lot of firemen rushing in, breaking down windows and doors. We heard people yelling that there was a couple, people inside.â€

Crews rescued two women and two children; they were hospitalized with burns and smoke inhalation.

One boy, about 5-years old, was later pronounced dead. A 1-year old girl died inside the apartment. We don't know the other victims' conditions.

Investigators say the fire was an accident, but haven't said how it started. The victimâ€™s names haven't been released.
