Miami - Attorneys for a woman accused of drowning her son want the woman's taped and written confessions thrown out of court.

Toni E. Torres has said she's a manic-depressive and is under the care of a mental health professional. The rural Quapaw woman is charged with first-degree murder. Her 17-month-old son, Alex Torres, drowned August 21st in Spring River, six miles east of Miami, Oklahoma.

Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty. Just hours after the boy died, Torres gave investigators a written and taped confession.

She's being held without bond in the Ottawa County Jail. She refused to enter a plea at her arraignment Friday, so the judge entered an innocent plea on her behalf.
