Rogers County authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a 15 year-old girl, who had a bright future ahead of her.
Ashley Thompson and her parents were planning a trip to launch her modeling career, when she was found dead in her closet. Novale and Stacey Thompson say around 4:30 New Year's morning, Ashley's boyfriend came to their bedroom and told them he'd found her hanging in her closet.
The Thompson’s don't believe she could have taken her own life. Ashley’s mother Stacey Thompson: "It's double-barred, and you gotta remember she's 5 foot 9, even out of natural instinct you would've been grabbing stuff down or trying to get your feet up on this second bar. And the 2nd bar was still in there? Yes."
Ashley's father is chief of police in Oologah, her mother, a registered nurse. When they got to Ashley's room, she was already stiff from rigor mortis, in a fetal position.
