Two suspects wanted for a string of burglaries are behind bars after their arrest early Wednesday morning.
Quick thinking by an off duty officer helped crack the case. It happened around 2:45 AM in south Tulsa at 129th East Avenue and South Garnett when an officer's dogs woke him up.
He went to see what was going on and found 2 people going through a neighbor's car. He chased the suspects all the way to a convenience store at 41st and Garnett, where they were pulled over.
Officers say they found a lot of stolen items in their car. Tulsa Police Corporal Mark Shelton: “We came back into the neighborhood searching for possible victims, located cars we saw had been obviously broken into and rummaged, several items were returned to their owners and uh the suspects were taken into custody.â€
One suspect is a juvenile. Police say the suspects are also wanted for other burglaries over the past couple of weeks. Charges are pending.
