There is one thing all presidential candidates agree on. They approve the message in their campaign ads. "I'm Dick Gephardt and I approved this message."

All the candidates say it, because it is required under a new campaign reform law. It's designed to clearly identify ads that the candidate approves, so those that are "not" approved will be obvious.

Elaine Dodd with the Tulsa County Democrats: “And in many cases it was not authorized by the candidates and in many cases it was damaging to the candidate.”

The tag line appears in campaign ads for all federal offices. The president will have to do it as well once his ads start running.
