(Edmond-AP) -- State Representative Wayne Pettigrew of Edmond says he's thinking about running for the US Senate.
He would face former Oklahoma City Mayor Kirk Humphreys, former Corporation Commissioner Bob Anthony and state Senator Mike Fair, among others, in the July 27th Republican primary.
The winners of the Republican and Democratic primaries will face off in the November general election.
Pettigrew says he wants to keep former Republican Senator Don Nickles' seat in GOP hands.
He says he won't run if former Congressman Tom Coburn from Muskogee decides to go for the position. Pettigrew is expected to make a final decision about his candidacy next month.
Pettigrew grew up in McAlester and has been an Oklahoma City-area legislator since 1995.
