(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Officials in the Putnam City school district say they found marijuana in the school bag of a 6-year-old elementary school student.

The girl told a Hilldale Elementary teacher her younger brother took the marijuana cigarette from their mother's ashtray and put it in her school bag.

The girl said her mother and stepfather smoke marijuana all the time.

Police say no one was home when officers went to the girl's home, but investigators are still looking into the case.

Hilldale Elementary is part of the Putnam City School District in northwestern Oklahoma City.
