(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A new Oklahoma law will aim to protect colleges and athletes from crooked agents.
The law took effect Thursday and is Oklahoma's version of the Uniform Athlete Agents Act.
It includes a buyer's remorse clause that lets athletes walk away from a contract for any reason. It also let universities sue agents or athletes who put a team on probation and make the team lose lucrative TV and bowl contracts.
Agents will now be required to give the state their work and educational history, and their professional references.
