Oklahoma's only level one trauma center will keep its doors open, at least for now.
The OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City was scheduled to close December 31st. The News on 6 learned Monday from Oklahoma's State Finance Director that the state will pay $2-million to keep the center open through June.
During that time, they hope to find a permanent source of funding to keep the center open long term.
Some options to come up with that money are higher cigarette taxes, higher driver's license fees and surcharges on traffic ticket fines.
