An international festival celebrating "America's Road" - Route 66 - will make its way to Tulsa next June.

Festival organizers announced plans for next summer's event Thursday at Cain's Ballroom. The festival will center in the Brady district, but will expand with events all over the city.

Each year, the festival picks a new home along the historic highway and organizers say Tulsa's commitment to projects like Vision 2025 attracted the festival to Oklahoma.

Michael Wallis, Honorary Festival chairman: "They now see that Tulsa is walking the walk and talking the talk and they're delivering because we have such a great tie to Route 66 and it's time to show it to the world.”

The celebration next summer runs June 10th through 13th.
