Many of us will spend big bucks this holiday season picking out the perfect gift. And some small towns are hoping folks will shop locally this Christmas.
100 businesses in the Bartlesville area are participating in Shop at "Home for the Holidaysâ€. From now until December 23rd, shoppers can go into any participating store and receive a ticket, which will go into a drawing for prizes.
You will also receive "one" ticket for every $10 you spend. It's an annual program by the city's Chamber of Commerce and several Bartlesville radio stations to encourage folks to keep tax dollars in their own backyard.
Dorea Potter, Promotions Director: "You might find the same thing somewhere else but you've spent gas to get there. Shop locally and support your neighbors."
Our Local News Radio Network stations in Bartlesville, KYFM and KRIG will have daily drawings every weekday until December 23rd. Folks will have a chance to win $25,000 in cash and prizes.
The towns of Sapulpa, Cushing, and Broken Arrow are also participating in their own shop locally programs.
