The state hopes to stop the spread of the flu with another mass immunization clinic, this one even larger than one held last week.
News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says another 3,000 people got flu shots through the Tulsa City-County Health Department last Wednesday. This Wednesday - they're planning for 5,000 people.
The first reports from last week show that doctors continue to see more patients with flu-like symptoms - and a higher percentage of them are testing positive for the flu. Many people wait too long to see a doctor - when there are both over the counter and prescription drugs that can help make it bearable.
Dr Kent Farish with Warren Clinic: "They work well in the sense that if an illness is going to last 7 days we can shorten it to 3-4 days so you can get a couple of days of your life back."
