Dozens of more jobs are coming to Tulsa. SBC says it's looking to consolidate some of its small call centers into larger ones, like Tulsa.

The local Communications Workers Union says SBC will close call centers in Muskogee, Stillwater, Oklahoma City and Fayetteville among others and that Tulsa will be one of their choices for relocation. The union says it's a mixed blessing, but that Tulsa will ultimately benefit.

Dave Ratcliff with the Communications Workers Local 6012: "It's certainly hard for anybody to have to uproot their families and move as is the case in Stillwater and Muskogee and some in Oklahoma City as well, but you know at the same time it is a positive for the Tulsa area, we have the potential of adding upwards of 159, possibly more jobs."

That number of 159 jobs could be higher or lower depending on where workers choose to move. Other choices are Amarillo and Arlington, Texas.
