(Stillwater-AP) -- Vernand Morency provided more proof that it really doesn't matter who takes the handoffs at Oklahoma State.

The yards will come in bunches, regardless.

Morency was a third-string tailback for much of the year.

Then he had a performance Saturday that was impressive even at a school that has produced NFL greats such as Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas.

The sophomore's 269 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries helped Oklahoma State snap a two-game losing skid with a 44-to-21 win over Kansas.

The victory pushed the Cowboys back into this week's AP poll at Number 24.

Morency's afternoon ranked 9th in school history.
