OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A former campaign worker for Rep. Ernest Istook has been arrrested on accusations that he took more than $21,000 from the congressman's campaign fund.

Jeremy Vaughn Pinson, 17, was arrested Friday in a Los Angeles hotel, Oklahoma City police Sgt. Charles Phillips said Monday.

He faces six charges of embezzlement, Phillips said. Extradition paperwork is being prepared.

Pinson is accused of forging campaign checks, Istook's office said. Pinson allegedly wrote a $14,000 check to himself and used other checks to make major purchases at various retailers including Wal-Mart, Glamour Shots, Best Buy and Men's Wearhouse.

Pinson was a part-time employee for Istook for about a month. The alleged fraud occurred between Oct. 10 and Oct. 31.
