Okmulgee County officials say they've snuffed out the source of several recent arsons. Okmulgee Police say Anthony Coleman and his girlfriend set 15 fires in a 2-week period in their own neighborhood.
Within the 2-weeks, Okmulgee's fire department responded to more than a dozen fires. All inside a two square block area. The first arson was a trashcan. The arsons escalated to abandoned homes and outdoor sheds.
Fire Marshal Rick Chisum says both the suspect and his girlfriend are in police custody. He believes they are responsible for all 15 arsons. "The young man had some indications last night and I anticipate we'll be successful in filing charges and following through with them."
No one was injured in any of the fires. Coleman and his girlfriend could face jail time if convicted.
