A short police chase early Monday morning ends with a stolen vehicle suspect behind bars.

It started when Tulsa Police officers tried to stop a blue van at 11th and Harvard. The driver ran off on foot, but a passenger stepped behind the wheel and sped away.

After a short chase, he bailed out in north Tulsa. Officers got a little help from a citizen making an arrest. Tulsa Police Corporal Brett Bilyeu: â€œa citizen called in and said they heard someone or something crawl underneath their house at which time we went and verified it and checked it out and it was the suspect the same one officers saw bail from the car.â€

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Tulsa County jail. Police say the original driver who ran off on foot, has not been found.
