(Undated-AP) -- Colleges are trying to battle suicide -- on the Internet.

They say since teens and young adults are comfortable with the Web -- it's a good place to fight the high rate of suicides and depression among students.

More than 80 universities have signed up so far for "www.Ulifeline.org", which provides links for students to school mental health centers for information, counseling and even scheduling appointments.

The suicide rate among 15- to 24-year-olds has tripled since the 1950's.

There are now about ten suicides per every 100,000 people in that age group.
