Governor Brad Henry announces plans for Safe Room rebates

(Oklahoma City-AP) – Governor Brad Henry announced Monday details of a Safe Room rebate program in Oklahoma.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the state $3-million in September to help residents build tornado shelters and safe rooms.

The program is expected to provide rebates of up to $2,000 to homeowners who install safe rooms.

The governor and state Department of Emergency Management director Albert Ashwood will released details of the program Monday afternoon.
