(Woodward-AP) -- A second-degree murder charge has been filed against a Woodward woman in connection with the death of her 23-month-old stepdaughter.

Lori Lanett Brewer turned herself in to law enforcement officials yesterday. The Woodward County Sheriff's Office says Brewer was released on 100-thousand dollars bond.

Kelli Lynn Brewer died on August 16th at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City. A State Medical Examiners report showed the death to be subdural hematoma, or blood collecting on the brain, due to child abuse.

Doctor Morris Gessouroun treated the girl at Children's Hospital. He told investigators the girl's injuries were most likely caused from a shake/impact type injury.
