Tulsa Police are wrapping up a homicide investigation. The shooting happened early Thursday at the Fairmont Terrace apartments near 61st and Peoria.

Tulsa Police say 21 year-old Silverio Merida crawled up to the third floor balcony of his ex-girlfriend's place broke in through the sliding glass door and started attacking Veronica Fuerte.

Officers say her current boyfriend; Jeff Akers shot Merida in the chest and killed him. They say Akers cooperated and handed over the gun, he's not being arrested at this time.

The Tulsa County DA will decide later whether charges are warranted.
