(Oklahoma City-AP) -- More than 100 Marathon Oil employees in Oklahoma City will lose their jobs or be transferred to company headquarters in Houston by year's end.
The reductions and moves are part of an earlier announced consolidation plan to save the country's fourth-largest oil company about $65-million annually.
In all, Marathon is eliminating about 265 positions and transferring about 230 people to Houston.
The company will close its business unit office in Denver and reduce staff in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Wyoming and Alaska.
The Oklahoma City office is losing 108 of its 124 employees.
