A broken trailer caused problems on a Tulsa highway early Monday morning. It happened just before 5 AM on southbound Highway 75 near and 71st Street.

Tulsa Police say the accident could have been avoided. Tulsa Police Sgt Laura Fadem, "We have a gentleman that was driving a van pulling a long utility trailer that was loaded, er, overloaded. And, he lost control of the trailer, turned sideways and the axle broke on the trailer."

The trailer ended up blocking both lanes of the highway, diverting traffic to the shoulder for awhile.

Crews spent an hour and a half clearing the roadway. No one was hurt.
