(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Governor Brad Henry Monday named Tulsa Judge Gordon McAllister Junior as district judge in Tulsa County.

McAllister has been a special judge in Tulsa County since 1983 and is a former court referee of the juvenile court in Tulsa.

He was chosen from a list of three candidates submitted by the Oklahoma Judicial Nominating Commission.

McAllister replaces Sharon Bubenik as judge in the 14th Judicial District in Tulsa County.
