Tulsa’s St Mary's School at 1365 East 49th Place is celebrating 50 years this school year.

To mark the anniversary, the school is making plans for the next 50 years. Students helped put a time capsule together so they can remember 2003.

They included a variety of things, like a school uniform, lunchboxes, and newspapers to mark current events. Faculty members say they want to make sure no one forgets about the time capsule. Carla Lechner, Director of Preschool: "We decided we would make a plaque and say we're going to open it in the 2053-2054 school year and hopefully some of the kids here will be parents and grandparents and be around to do it."

Students and teachers watched as the capsule was put into an abandoned vent to be opened in 50 years.
