Vision 2025 supporters say its passage would benefit the local airline industry. Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry, in Tulsa on Wednesday, says the support of Tulsa County residents is important to the future of American Airlines and Boeing.
He thinks the state has come through with flying colors; saying the proposal to Boeing is the best he's ever seen. "I believe the site selection consultant for Boeing felt the same way about it, so I don't believe there's anyway that the Boeing officials could look at our proposal and not consider us to be in the final cut."
The governor says even if Oklahoma doesn't land the Boeing contract, he thinks the exposure from such a proposal and support at the ballot box would give Oklahoma a leg-up on future projects.
