Severe weather blows through Green Country. A cool front that moved through the area is bringing much needed rain throughout northeast Oklahoma.

It also brought a lot of cloud to ground lightning, which made for great viewing. Just ahead of that storm were strong winds.

Gusts up to 60 miles per hour in some areas came through at about 3:30 AM Tuesday and caused some damage. The sign at Imperial Kitchen was knocked down. Plus, city crews had to put up four way stop signs because the lights were out nearby.

Much of that damage is limited to trees and power lines. AEP-PSO says as many as 11,000 customers lost power Tuesday morning. It has crews working to restore service, which could take much of the day.
