A Wister man is in police custody. Heâ€™s accused of shooting a Texas couple whose bodies were found at a forest campground in southeastern Oklahoma.

Edward Fields is being held without bond at the LeFlore County jail for two counts of murder. Police say Fields did not know the man and woman who were camping in the Ouachita National Forest south of Poteau.

A hiker found their bodies there on July 11th. Federal charges will be filed against Fields, because the murders were on federal land.
