A close call for a couple headed toward Oklahoma City. They found themselves in a wreck early Monday morning.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a couple in a Jeep was pulling a U-Haul trailer near Bristow around one o'clock Monday morning. That's when a semi-truck hit them from behind. OHP trooper Brian Orr, "It knocked the vehicle pulling the U-Haul trailer into a retaining wall, turned upside down, had the occupants trapped for a few minutes however they were able to get themselves out."
Part of the turnpike had to be closed for about an hour. The man had to be flown to a Tulsa hospital for a wound to the head. His injuries are not life threatening. The man's wife and 1-month-old child were not hurt.
The driver of the semi-and his passenger were not hurt.
