There's also help on the way for Broken Arrow K-9 officers. When cops get in tense situations, it's not just human officers who are at risk. K-9 officers are too and now some Broken Arrow officers are a step closer to being protected.
RCB's bank president made a donation Thursday toward buying bulletproof vests for the police dogs, like Sampson, who has been serving for five years. Broken Arrow Police Chief Todd Wuestewald, "We send him into buildings after burglars, on manhunts, and after some violent felons and so they put themselves in some pretty dangerous situations and we to give them every advantage we can."
The department has four K-9 officers; so far they have raised enough money to buy vests for two of them.
