(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Talihina rancher is the third candidate to file for the special election in House District 17.

Dave Shaw joins Bill San Millan of Stuart and former Representative Mike Mass of Hartshorne. All three are Democrats.

Mass gave up the House seat for an unsuccessful race for Congress.

His successor recently won a special election to fill veteran Senator Gene Stipe's seat.

A special primary election for the House seat is set for August 12th.

The filing period ends at 5 pm today.
