(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Workers are returning to the tornado damaged General Motors plant in Oklahoma City and the plant is on schedule to reopen Monday.
Plant spokeswoman Kathy Oden says body shop and paint shop workers returned to work this week. She says the rest of the nearly 3,000 workers will return on Monday.
The plant was shut down after being heavily damaged during a May 8th tornado. Workers using giant stadium lights have worked around the clock to repair and rebuild the facility.
A barbecue is planned Thursday afternoon to celebrate the work of the contractors.
GM hasn't released an estimate of the storm damage, but a corporate lobbyist puts the figure between $60 and $100-million.
GM has insurance to cover the damage and lost production.
