(Oklahoma City-AP) -- An Oklahoma Supreme Court referee says charges of bias against the court's justices are not enough to kick them off the cockfighting case.

Referee Greg Albert recommended Tuesday that the court reject demands by cockfighting proponents to step aside from the case.

Attorney General Drew Edmondson has asked the court to decide whether a voter-approved ban on cockfighting, that's has been blocked in almost 30 counties, is constitutional.

Proponents claim the court has shown bias against their profession in a prior decision in which the court ruled against them.

But Albert says there's not enough evidence to disqualify the seven Supreme Court justices who will decide the issue.
