OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The attorney general's office asked the Oklahoma Supreme Court on Monday to convene a new multicounty grand jury for an 18-month session.
``The court has 15 days to rule on our application and we fully expect it will grant our request,'' Attorney General Drew Edmondson said.
The previous grand jury adjourned May 7 after spending most of its time investigating allegations of bribery and kickbacks at the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
Edmondson said the grand jury will continue that investigation and hear other cases.
An appendix addressing the scope and objectives of the proposed probes was filed under seal with the state's high court.
Edmondson's office oversees the grand jury's work.
