The presidential election is still a year-and-a-half away but the campaign is already underway, and the trail has started in Tulsa.

Democratic candidate and US Senator Joe Lieberman was in town at the Transport Workers Union hall. News on 6 reporter Steve Berg says Oklahoma's going to get a lot more attention in this campaign, because we're holding our primary earlier.

Joe Lieberman also has a sister who lives in Norman, so that doesn't hurt either. Wednesday, he outlined some of the main planks in his platform. One of those is the problem of corporate greed. And he told American Airlines workers that a former American Airlines CEO was one of the worst offenders.

He says the only way to turn the economy around and restore consumer confidence is to crack down on white-collar corruption. "People don't have the confidence that the Bush administration which is so tied to business has the nerve to take on business executive who don't play by the rules. Believe me, when I'm president, they're going to be held accountable, I promise you that."

No Democrat has carried Oklahoma since LBJ. But Lieberman says he'll be making more visits to the Sooner State.
