The Tulsa Fire Department hopes a newly created arson task force will help them solve a string of car fires.
The News on 6 was the only news station invited to attend a task force meeting. The task force is looking for new ways to respond to car fires that will put more investigators on the street within minutes of a report. They've narrowed down the field of suspects to three strong ones, but need more help from the public. Tulsa Fire Captain Hubert Rouse, "They've got a lot of tips on possible suspects and they need more information about who's setting these fires."
Someone has set fire to 50 cars in north and west Tulsa in the past year, causing over a quarter of a million dollars in damage.
