Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson is joining forces to keep "under God" part of the pledge of allegiance.

During a meeting in Oklahoma City, the attorneys general from 49 states made a united statement. Together they have filed papers asking the US Supreme Court to reverse a ruling that strikes down reciting the Pledge in public schools because it refers to God.

California, where the case originated with the ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals will file separately.
