Mosquito spraying is expected to begin this week in Tulsa. Now the Tulsa City-County Health Department has a few more tools to help kill the pests.

The department has two new spray trucks, bringing the total number of trucks to five. That means neighborhoods in Tulsa will be sprayed, on average, once every three weeks, instead of once a month.

John Zima with the Tulsa City County Health Department, "This will help us knock down the adult mosquito population, especially in areas where they are really bad."

Here's the number you can call to request spraying. It's 595-4219. Crews will concentrate on areas known to have large mosquito populations and areas they receive a lot of calls on.
