Area residents are still in disbelief over the murder of a popular North Tulsa pastor.
On Tuesday afternoon, 35-year-old Neaco Padillow was shot to death while waiting in his car near Burrows Elementary School.
The murder is puzzling – with no obvious motive and not much evidence to work with. But Tulsa Homicide Detectives report they are working some fresh leads.
One of those leads comes from a witness who saw Neaco Padillow having a conversation with a man just a few moments before Padillow was shot and killed. Investigators will work with the witness and a sketch artist to create a composite of the man.
Some witnesses reported seeing a young man, estimated to be in his late teens or early 20's, running from the area.
The man had a lighter complexion and a short Afro haircut. He was wearing baggy blue jeans or denim shorts and a blue and white striped shirt, police said.
Detectives are also seeking more information about the Pastor's business dealings, which they believe might reveal a motive for the crime.
Detectives aren’t the only ones asking for information though; a Tulsa city councilor is urging citizens to come forward with information.
Joe Williams, Tulsa City Councilor: "We're sick and tired of being victims, we're sick and tired of the drug pushers thinking they can get away with crime because they can intimidate us. We need to stand up against what's going on in this community."
If you know anything about the murder of Neaco Padillow, please call Crimestoppers 596-COPS immediately. You don't have to give your name, and a cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
