(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A police chase in Oklahoma City Sunday morning ended with an officer fatally shooting a 15-year-old boy.

Police say Officer Craig McBride saw two vehicles, one with a headlight out.

Police say McBride began a traffic stop for the violation, when the second vehicle driven by Rucker Harjo sped off.

Police say the vehicle attempted to flee while driving through neighborhoods.

The vehicle stopped at an elementary school and McBride got out of his car and approached the vehicle.

Police say the driver put his vehicle in reverse and began to accelerate in McBride's direction.

McBride fired his weapon and the vehicle crashed into his car. The driver was fatally shot.

McBride was placed on routine administrative leave with pay while the incident is investigated.

This is the third officer shooting in the last ten days. Two of the three shooting victims have died.
