Tulsa's city hall and most city offices were closed Friday because of a mandatory furlough day to save money.

The days were scheduled to coincide with holidays - to give employees a four-day weekend. It's an incentive to help soften the blow of losing a day's pay.

Regular city employees lost seven days pay this year because of a budget shortfall.
