Former church schoolteacher and accused child molester Aaron Thompson remains in jail. But his case is close to some resolution - either a trial or a plea bargain.
News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says more than a year after Aaron Thompson was arrested - there's a deal in the works to settle the case without a trial.
Negotiations have been ongoing - and some sort of settlement could be announced Friday. Tim Harris, District Attorney: “Actually plea negotiations are something I don't feel ethically I can discuss with the public or the press, but I can tell you negotiations are ongoing between Mr. O'Carroll and myself."
Another hearing is set this Friday for Thompson, who stands accused of lewd molestation involving his male students at Grace Fellowship Christian School.
He was fired from the school and has been in jail since the charges were filed last Spring.
